With a passion for creating gorgeous and memorable occasions, we work closely with you from cooking up ideas right through to production on the day. Over the years we've built up valued connections with key venues and suppliers along with a few secret locations here on Waiheke, which means that we can manage all the elements of planning, ensuring that it's one effortless and enjoyable experience for all. My Waiheke founder, Sophia Hoadley, has spent a great deal of time working in with the local community, scouting out new and wonderful locations, offerings and people that help bring that extra magic and ease to an event. Living locally (yes, we are based here on Waiheke!) helps us connect in with the all the latest happenings, bringing you the very best in venues and vendors for your event.
In 2015 we launched My Waiheke Hire, a place where you can find a bespoke range of decor, furniture and props. Whether you're looking for string festoon lighting, wooden trestle tables, ceremony arches or linen napkins, you can now find it all here on the Island.
Sophia Hoadley - Founder & Creative Director
Sophia has been working in the events Industry since 2000, moved to Waiheke in 2005 and set up business in 2010. She is one part planner, one part designer, and one complete package when it comes to creating and coordinating events. Sophia has a background anchored in marketing, sales and event management. After completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Auckland, she spent a number of years working in Australia and Italy. She returned home to NZ, and moved into the creative arenas of film and TV. Her spare time was filled with hosting parties, making jewellery, hiking the great outdoors and travelling. Her entrepreneurial spirit balanced with her unique creative skills have been the driving force behind My Waiheke. Sophia can often be found with a green smoothie in one hand, chalk pen in the other, finessing over the finer details which are our events.
