Urban Escargot’s owner/operator, Nico Fini is originally from France where he worked in 3 Star Michelin restaurants and was head chef at one restaurant voted in the top 20 of the Savoy area by Gault & Millau. Such a background brings with it high standards. Since moving to New Zealand, Nico has adapted his style to embrace the produce and Pacific-rim influence prevailing here, while remaining true to the proven, traditional French approach to cuisine. He has worked as an executive chef in various restaurants in Canterbury as well as cooking for functions from 10 to 800 people.
Urban Escargot is now based in Waiheke Island where he is offering his catering services to corporate and private clients from weddings or Xmas functions.
